About Thames Books

From our base in Battersea, London, a few yards from the River Thames, we sell a wide range of new (or nearly new) and second-hand books, magazines and journals; but especially novels, thrillers, biography and history, poetry, plays and screenplays. If you're looking for vintage paperbacks (pre-1977) you'll usually find something.

Occasionally we may offer something for sale which is of collectible quality, and of course the price will reflect that. However, the prime aim of Thames Books is to sell books for readers to read.

We accept debit and credit card payments via PayPal - which is very safe and secure. Please note that you no longer need to sign up with PayPal to use your debit or credit card. We also accept postal orders, or cheques drawn on a UK bank.

We have a wealth of experience of shipping overseas and have regular ebay customers in the USA, Australia, and all over Europe, so you can be sure that the book will reach you as quickly as we can get it to you.

If for any reason you are dissatisfied with your purchase we will generally offer a refund of the purchase price once the book is returned in satisfactory condition. See Terms and Conditions for more details of our customer service policies.
